Welcome to Chelsea Elementary
March Break is in 3 sleeps!
[pdf format with calendar of events]
Students and staff are very excited for a well-deserved vacation.
This means that spring is around the corner! We want to reassure all parents that the team at Chelsea School is strong and that while some teachers and Mr. Mason are away on leave, these are for the short term. When Chelsea staff needs to pull together, we do!
Winter Carnival this Friday!
Our Student Council has organized a fun Winter Carnival on Friday afternoon filled with fun games for mixed groups of students from K-6. It is sure to be a lot of fun. We are in need of parent volunteers to help with organization and supervision that afternoon. There is everything from obstacle races to snow balls and we are sure to have fun together. The activities will run approximately from 12:45 to 2ish.
Thank-you to Home and School for organizing a hot chocolate station for us!
Please email Devon Gable at dgable@wqsb.qc.ca if you are able to volunteer.
Report Cards
Teachers have been working very hard on report cards. They will go home on March 15th.
A4 News
As most parents are aware, there have been several changes in the A4 Program. Group time will allow a sense of ownership and belonging to a specific educator. It will also allow the children to take part in the planning of activities.
The following schedule has been put together for all students:
- 2:45 to 3:00 p.m. – snack time
- 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. – free play outside for all
- 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. – group time for all
- 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. – transition time = free play in MPR/Gym/Library
Since the departure of Katie Porter and Nancy Smith (as of March 15th) we have two temporary replacement educators (Mr. David Maclachan and Ms. Sabina Vanasse) and a lunch supervisor (Ms. Erin Campbell). We welcome them aboard.
Our focus continues to be quality of programing and safety for all children.
The March 23rd PD Day still to be determined. If you have any questions regarding the program or any of the changes, please feel free to contact me at 819-827-0245 ext. 3103 or e-mail me at sduchesne@wqsb.qc.ca.

Respect for all, by all
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
