The spring has certainly heated up quickly bringing thoughts of summer fun. It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter for the year. It has been a pleasure to act as principal in Scott's absence and as always, I am proud of our school community during what was a year of many challenges. Parents of students with IEPs you will be meeting Friday, June 3rd with your child's teacher to discuss their progress and set the direction for next year. Please note that report cards will be mailed home this year and should arrive in your mailbox the first week of July. Along with the report card, you will find next year's calendar and the class supply list.
June is packed with special events, field trips, and activities; be sure to look closely at the calendar. Spring Fling, on June 4th, is our next big event! Join us for a day of family fun that will raise money for our Outdoor Classroom Project. The end of year picnic will be held on June 23rd at 11:30 and I look forward to seeing parents at this kick off to summer. More information will be sent home soon.
As a final note, I'd like to share with you the two key messages from our recent assembly with presenter and rapper, Peter Joynt. Peter shared his personal story and his musical talent in an engaging and dynamic presentation which highlighted the power of being positive and the importance of resilience. Following his presentation, questions poured in from students in all cycles and many thanks were offered to him, by staff and students, for his inspiring messages.
