Happy June! It is hard to believe that the end of another school year is just around the corner!
Last month, the dance company, Just Aissi visited Chelsea for one week and worked with each class. They taught students the cultural significance of South African Gumboot dancing and each group was coached through a choreographed routine. The MPR was filled with big smiles and loud stomping! This school-wide cultural activity was supported by an Art and Culture grant and also our Home and School Association.
This month the school will be busy with end of year trips and end of year activities. Please see the calendar of important dates for this information. During our end of year assembly on June 22nd we will be recognizing the incredible community of volunteers that helps make Chelsea Elementary such a wonderful place to learn. Thank you to all of those that help our community in so many ways. Please watch your email for information regarding the End of Year Picnic/BBQ!
Thank you to the many parents who have been sending donations to support class field trips. By directing this money to help cover the field trip expenses, we will be able to allocate some of our grant money toward a school-wide wellness initiative.
As another school year wraps up, I want to wish everyone a happy and safe summer. See you August!
