Welcome back!

It was great to see everyone come back last week and to welcome new students to our school. The staff and students have come back reenergized and we are all looking forward to a great year. We are also welcoming a few new staff members on our team. The new additions to our staff are: Mme. Sandrine Bédard in Kindergarten (français), Mrs. Melissa Hidic in the Centre, Mrs. Kim Render in Grade 1, and Mr. Jason Torrito is returning.

Over the course of the week, you will receive the details of our hot lunch programs. Once again this year, we will be offering hot lunches through the online service Mazzola and Pizza and Shawarma from Chelsea Shawarma. A small portion of each order is redistributed back to the school as a fundraising for school activities (plays, school-wide presentations, end of year class trips, etc.).

This year, the daily schedule has been changed slightly to accommodate for an afternoon health break. As our students eat their lunches at 11:30, many children found themselves very hungry at the end of the afternoon. The school team and governing board have decided to amend the schedule to provide an opportunity for students to eat a snack after the afternoon recess. We therefore ask that parents send an additional snack in their child/children’s lunch box.

I will continue to use the REMIND application this year to communicate urgent or important information to parents. If you have not signed up yet or were not using last year, please find information on how to register attached to this newsletter.

On behalf of the Chelsea staff, I wish everyone a successful school year.

Marie-Eve Groulx
